The Philips Hue Amarant is one of the four new releases that our favourite manufacturer has presented to us this month. The wall washer for outdoor use has a recommended retail price of 149.99 euros and has of course already made its way to us in Bochum. Today, I would like to give you my first impressions before the Amarant finds a permanent place in my home and I will provide you with a final report later.

Already yesterday I wrote about the Violet SmartSwitch on our German Apple blog. But I think the smart light switch with color display and touchscreen is so interesting that I would like to write a few lines about it here as well. Just as a little preview, before I will look at the accessories myself in the next few weeks.
I have already reported several times about the Sunricher module, which is equipped with a battery and can be used in the Hue app just like a normal Friends of Hue switch. Since no kinetic energy has to be generated, the switch is much quieter when pressed. However, the frame and rocker, which Sunricher supplies as standard, are not really of good quality.
It should be another two months or so before Philips Hue finally launches its new wall switch module. Formerly developed by Insta as a Friends of Hue accessory, the product will be able to turn a traditional light switch into a smart light switch.
